About the Event
- IIT Delhi’s annual Open House shall be held on 18th April 2009. LUG@IITD shall also be contributing like last time (in collaboration with Bharti School of Telecommunications) with a full day of activities in Bharti Buildings.
- On this day school children and general public are free to visit IIT Delhi facilities.
- We shall be having presentations for them (two separate sections for school and grownups which shall be repeated during the course of the day. These shall be of 45 minutes each.
- The Linux for School presentations shall also show the FOSS made cartoon Big Buck Bunny!
- There shall also be interleaved special short TipsNTricks sections on specific topics and some FOSS related movies/videos in between. Suitable videos may also be shown.
- We invite volunteers for giving these tips n tricks sections as well as the main section (for which presentations are already available). We request some general volunteers as well from whom we expect only 2 hours of presence at time suitable for them to attract audience. (If they want to stay longer they’re welcome!). You can choose your topics and be available for the allotted slot.

3rd CONVOCATION AT RKGIT

Congratulation!!! to 2008 pass out for successfully earning their degree from uptu. On 12 april 2009 RKGIT hosted its 3rd colorful convocation for 2008 pass outs. The ceremony was headed by CCS university VC and UPTU VC Mr. Prem vrat. This ceremony was organized at RKGIT campus.All the pass-out from 2008 batch were present there.This was really a great time for those who present there.Degrees were handed to those people in B.tech,MBA,MCA,B.pharm.
The ceremony was concluded after chief guest speech.

EVENT:- TEN GREAT IDEAS TO CHANGE THE WORLD IN NEXT 50 YEARS

As you might be aware, IIT Bombay is celebrating its golden jubilee and as part of this celebration we have a mega event – 10 Great Ideas to change the world in the Next 50 Years. This initiative is consistent with IITB’s vision of being the Fountainhead of New Ideas and Innovators in Technology and Science. We are delighted that this event is conducted in collaboration with Godrej.
In this event we invite you to submit your ideas that you believe will change the world in next 50 years. Your ideas can be in any field of science and technology or in the general area of security. We believe that you and your ideas would be the prime movers for the world.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:-
- The event is open to All.
- Your ideas can be in any field of science and technology.
- You will have to register yourself first at http://10greatideas.iitb.ac.in and then submit the idea upto May. 31st, 2009

- After online submission of the idea you can revise your idea. Your idea, as submitted will be frozen on May. 31st, 2009.
- You (each member) can submit only one idea.
- The criteria for evaluating the Ideas will center on:
- Novelty / Originality
- Impact on the world
- Feasibility
- Contribution to Human development (Human development index)
- Environmental impact
- World renowned thought leaders will judge your idea. The panel of judges will be put up very shortly.
- The IPR for the idea resides with the presenter of the idea.
- IIT Bombay, in co-ordination with the Godrej group, will help incubate some of the top 10 ideas.
- The top 10 ideas will be declared by an eminent panel of judges during the grand finale, the tentative date for which is First Week of August.
