About the Event

  • IIT Delhi’s annual Open House shall be held on 18th April 2009. LUG@IITD shall also be contributing like last time (in collaboration with Bharti School of Telecommunications) with a full day of activities in Bharti Buildings.
  • On this day school children and general public are free to visit IIT Delhi facilities.
  • We shall be having presentations for them (two separate sections for school and grownups which shall be repeated during the course of the day. These shall be of 45 minutes each.
    • The Linux for School presentations shall also show the FOSS made cartoon Big Buck Bunny!
  • There shall also be interleaved special short TipsNTricks sections on specific topics and some FOSS related movies/videos in between. Suitable videos may also be shown.
  • We invite volunteers for giving these tips n tricks sections as well as the main section (for which presentations are already available). We request some general volunteers as well from whom we expect only 2 hours of presence at time suitable for them to attract audience. (If they want to stay longer they’re welcome!). You can choose your topics and be available for the allotted slot.

ArthroBotix 

Arthrobots are walking robots with 4 or more legs. Hence this workshop aims at giving an opportunity to the students to take a stand and actively participate in the development of Legged Robots right from scratch. This workshop covers the concepts which prove to be the basic building blocks of legged robots and enables the students to develop a “QUADRAPED – 4 Legged Robot” in just two days.

AutoBotz

AutoBotz is a microcontroller based introductory autonomous robotics workshop by Technophilia Solutions, where you learn the art of making autonomous robots. This workshop teaches you the fundamentals of designing and building autonomous robots by integration with a microcontroller. It also focuses on conceptualization and designing of complex systems and will help clear concepts related to embedded systems, artificial intelligence and automation.

The festival will witness a confluence of creative minds from far and wide. Apart from focussing on next generation technology our events are also designed to emphasize prevalent issues and technological trends. With the 3G spectrum set to be auctioned in India, which is well known for an astronomical customer base, the time is ripe to celebrate the advent of this quantum leap. Guest lectures by eminent personalities will augment our efforts in this direction.
